Human Rights Commissions and Disability

Several people have asked me about the involvement of human rights commissions on the disability issue. There is an International Coordinating Committee (ICC) of National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) based in Geneva. The ICC (and each of its regions in Europe, Americas, Africa and Asia/Pacific) has a thematic focus on disability. The website is available at: http://www.nhri.net/default.asp?PID=103&DID=0

Note: it is a bit out of date and is not fully comprehensive - but it is at least a jump-off point.
